Mr. Gaymond also has been a priority consultant to top-level governments in many countries in Europe and Asia relating to economic and commercial development. Prior, Mr. Gaymond worked with IBM in software sales & marketing and also served for nearly seven years as a Commercial Officer at the British Consulate-General office in Boston, Massachusetts relating to the life science industry. Currently, he is on the Board of Trustees of The Forsyth Institute, the leading independent dental and craniofacial research organization in the world. Mr. Gaymond earned his B.Sc. in Linguistic and International Studies (Russian, Swedish and Law) from the University of Surrey, and a post-graduate degree in education from Madeley College, United Kingdom.

 

 


 

In January 2010, Nigel Gaymond was appointed Chief Executive of the BioIndustry Association (BIA), which is the trade association for innovative enterprises in the UK's bioscience sector. Established in 1989, its mission is to encourage and promote a thriving, financially sound sector of the UK economy, built upon developments across the biosciences.  The BIA seeks to create economic growth, increase employment opportunities and expand the skills base.

Mr. Gaymond brings a wealth of healthcare and life science experience with over 20 years experience in the corporate affairs, business development and consulting arenas of the life science industry. He is considered a global expert on economic development strategies in the life science area and has concentrated on commercial development of products and services and accessing the various routes of governmental, industry and institutional investment options within the EU, Asia and North America. Mr. Gaymond is former President of Gaymond International, a company that provided executive level management and commercialization consulting to the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology industries as well as many healthcare and life science trade groups.
